Review by hotel critic
Nestled amidst serene surroundings, Alec and Catriona’s shepherds hut offers an experience that straddles the line between rustic charm and modern convenience. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly, a testament to Alec and Catriona's commitment to hospitality. the hut itself is well-equipped with a compact kitchen stocked with cookware and utensils, which added a practical touch to my stay. the outdoor dining area, bathed in sunlight throughout the day, provided an inviting space for meals, with garden furniture lending comfort for relaxation. Families will appreciate the children's play area featuring swings and tractor toys, which kept my newborn entertained. Communication was seamless; I appreciated the ease of last-minute bookings. Options for locally-sourced breakfast hampers and dinner ingredients allowed for a tailored culinary experience. the hut strikes an admirable balance between comfort and affordability, making it a sound choice for those seeking a peaceful getaway. I left feeling rejuvenated and already planning my return. It’s the perfect base for exploring the scenic trails nearby while enjoying a taste of local hospitality.
